Vietnam: FDI capital in Vietnam increased by more than 51% in the first 5 months

By the end of May 2025, the total newly registered, adjusted and contributed capital of foreign investors reached nearly 18.4 billion USD, up 51.1% over the same period. The realized capital of foreign investment projects is estimated at about 8.9 billion USD, up 7.9% over the same period. The processing and manufacturing industry took the lead with a total investment capital of more than 10.39 billion USD, up 31.8% over the same period.

Vietnam: A golden opportunity to break through in the race to attract high-quality FDI

In the context of a volatile global economy, Vietnam has emerged as a strategic destination with strong appeal. A series of leading corporations in the world such as Trump, SYRE, Intel, Meta… have simultaneously poured large capital into the fields of high technology, green industry and luxury real estate. Vietnam is striving to become a center for R&D of AI through strategic cooperation. This is a golden opportunity for Vietnam to break through in the race to attract high-quality FDI.

Vietnam: Adjusting administrative boundaries – A new boost for industrial real estate

Expanding administrative boundaries helps provinces plan more new industrial parks with larger areas, providing more options for investors. Localities that are already bright spots in attracting investment, when merged and coordinated more closely in planning, will complement each other in terms of infrastructure, labor and development orientation. Large scale helps localities achieve higher standards in management, thereby improving their position in the global value chain.

Vietnam: Many international and domestic investors are interested in Free Trade Zone

Since the beginning of 2025, leaders of Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau provinces have continuously worked with investors to explore investment opportunities in free trade zone (FTZ) projects. Currently, FTZ projects have received attention from many domestic and foreign enterprises such as DP World (UAE), ST Strategies (USA), Lien Thai Binh Duong Import Export Company Limited… In addition, Ho Chi Minh City has also begun to study FTZ in Can Gio, with an area of 1,000 – 2,000 ha.

Vietnam: Southern ready-built warehouse rental prices increase slightly

After a period of strong growth, the southern provinces did not have any new warehouse and factory supply for rent in the first quarter. The shortage of supply contributed to the increase in ready-built warehouse rental prices by 7.6% compared to the same period last year and 2.6% compared to the previous quarter, reaching an average of 4.9 USD per square meter per month. The occupancy rates of ready-built warehouses and factories in the south reached 72% and 89%, respectively.

Vietnam: Approval of investment policy for Quy Nhon – Pleiku Expressway Project

On June 27, the National Assembly voted to approve the investment policy for the Quy Nhon – Pleiku Expressway Project. The project is about 125 km long, divided into 3 component projects. The total preliminary investment of the project is about 43,734 billion VND. The project is prepared for investment and implementation in 2025, expected to be completed and put into operation from 2029. Implementing the form of non-stop electronic toll collection in exploitation and operation.

Vietnam: Approval of adjustment of investment for Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway

On June 27, the National Assembly officially approved the Resolution on adjusting the investment policy for the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway Construction Project, Phase 1. Total new investment of the project is VND 21,551 billion. The project has a total length of nearly 54km with the starting point at the National Highway 1 bypass in Bien Hoa City. The end point is at National Highway 56 in Ba Ria City. The project will be basically completed in 2025 and put into synchronous operation in 2026.

Hanoi: Approval of the zoning plan for the Hanoi High-Tech Biological Park

On June 4, the Hanoi People’s Committee issued Decision No. 2788/QD-UBND approving the zoning plan for the Hanoi High-Tech Biological Park, scale 1/2000. It is within the administrative boundaries of the wards: Tay Tuu, Lien Mac, Minh Khai, Thuy Phuong and Co Nhue 2, Bac Tu Liem District. Quang Binh: Approval of Cam Lien Industrial Zone Planning

Quang Binh People’s Committee has just approved the Cam Lien Industrial Zone construction planning. Accordingly, the planning area is located in the communes of Cam Thuy, Thanh Thuy, Ngu Thuy Bac (Le Thuy district). The area is over 458 hectares. The workforce is about 52,000 people. In terms of nature, this is a multi-industry concentrated industrial park with environmentally friendly technology, synchronous technical infrastructure and suitable connections with surrounding areas.

Quang Binh: New planning for Bo Trach Industrial Park

Quang Binh People’s Committee has just approved the task of planning the construction zoning of Bo Trach Industrial Park, scale 1/2000. Accordingly, the planning area has an area of about 450 ha, located in the communes of Hoa Trach and Tay Trach (Bo Trach district). In addition, Quang Binh province has recently approved the construction zoning of Cam Lien Industrial Park. The planning area is located in the communes of Cam Thuy, Thanh Thuy, Ngu Thuy Bac (Le Thuy district).

Nam Dinh: Approval of investment policy for Hong Tien Industrial Park Project

Nam Dinh Provincial People’s Committee has just approved the investment policy for Hong Tien Industrial Park Project in Y Yen district with a total capital of over VND 1,423 billion. The project has a scale of 113.89 hectares, oriented to develop into a specialized industrial park, focusing on the production and assembly of electronics, computers and optical products. The operation period is 50 years from the date of land lease by the State.

Nam Dinh: Construction of the Green Steel Complex worth nearly 100,000 billion VND

On June 23, the construction of the Nam Dinh Green Steel Project Complex of Xuan Thien Group with a total capital of over 9,800 billion VND was started. It has a capacity of 9.5 million tons of steel/year, using electricity, natural gas, and moving towards using green hydrogen to reduce steel, replacing the traditional steelmaking technology using coke. According to the schedule, by June 2028, the unit will produce the first steel product and by June 2030, the project complex will be completed.

Nam Dinh: Approval of the policy to build Nghia Hung inland waterway port (phase 1)

Nam Dinh Provincial People’s Committee has decided to approve the investment policy and at the same time approve the investor of Nghia Hung inland waterway port (phase 1) with a total investment capital of VND 3,401.0 billion. It is implemented in Nam Dien commune, Nghia Hai commune, Nghia Hung district, Nam Dinh province with a project scale of about 10.15 million tons/year and a total area of about 89.4 hectares.

Binh Duong: Thaco Group approved to build 786-hectare Mechanical Industrial Park

On June 18, Binh Duong People’s Committee granted the decision approving the investment policy and approved the investor, Thadico Binh Duong IP Development Investment Co. Ltd, to develop the Mechanical Industrial Park project (Bac Tan Uyen 1 Industrial Park). The project will be implemented on a scale of 786 ha, located in Binh My and Tan Lap communes, Bac Tan Uyen district and Hoi Nghia ward, Tan Uyen city. The total investment is expected to be 12,800 billion VND.

Binh Duong: Commencement of construction of HCM Ring Road 4 project

On June 18, the People’s Committee of Binh Duong province commenced construction of HCMC Ring Road 4, the section through Binh Duong and inaugurated routes DT 743, DT 746 and DT 747B. Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4, the section through Binh Duong province, is 47.8 km long, with a scale of 8 complete expressway lanes, and a design speed of 100 km/h. When completed, the project will connect with Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 and the HCMC – Thu Dau Mot – Chon Thanh expressway.

Binh Duong: Vinh Lap Industrial Park planning approved

Binh Duong Provincial People’s Council has just approved the general construction planning (scale 1/5,000) of Vinh Lap Industrial Park in Tam Lap commune, Phu Giao district. The planning boundary has an area of 750.34 ha. The labor scale is about 37,000 people. The project prioritizes exploiting high-tech industrial types. According to the previous plan, It was divided into 2 phases. Of which, 497 ha will be implemented in the period 2021-2030 and 253 ha in the period 2030-2050.

Binh Duong: Biwase starts construction of 12 MW waste-to-energy plant

On June 26, Binh Duong Water and Environment Corporation held a groundbreaking ceremony for the 12 MW waste-to-energy plant. Accordingly, the equipment is expected to be delivered to the construction site from July 2025 to March 2026 and is expected to be completed in 2025-2026. It has a total investment of 45 million USD, equivalent to about 1,150 billion VND, processes 500 tons of waste/day and generates 12 MW of electricity, which is the first phase of the 24 MW capacity project.

Ninh Thuan: Approval of Ca Na Industrial Park Phase 1

Ninh Thuan People’s Committee has officially granted the Investment Policy Decision and approved the investor, Trung Nam Ca Na Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment JSC, to implement the project of Ca Na Industrial Park Phase 1, in Phuoc Diem commune, Thuan Nam district. It is implemented on an area of 378 ha, with a total investment capital of nearly 3,900 billion VND. The project’s operating period is 50 years, from the date the project is approved for investment policy.

Quang Ngai: Approval of important planning projects in Dung Quat Economic Zone

Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee has just issued decisions approving the project to adjust the 1/2,000 scale construction zoning plan for 3 important projects in Dung Quat Economic Zone. Accordingly, the Dong Dung Quat mixed service area has an area of about 521 hectares. The Dong Dung Quat Industrial Park planning has an area of about 3,731 hectares. The Northwest Dung Quat Urban, Industrial and Service Area planning has an area of about 2,793 hectares.

Hai Duong: Planning 5 more Industrial Parks of over 900 hectares

The Hai Duong Provincial People’s Council recently approved the task of planning 5 new industrial parks (IPs) in the area. The projects include Cong Hoa 2 IP (190 ha, Chi Linh City). Binh Giang 4 IP (196 ha, Binh Giang District). Thanh Mien 2 IP (220 ha, Thanh Mien District). Binh Giang 3 IP (200 ha, Binh Xuyen Commune, Binh Giang District and Thanh Tung Commune, Thanh Mien District). Tu Ky 1 IP (115.8 ha, Hung Dao Commune, Dai Son, Tu Ky District).

Hai Duong: Approval of investment in Binh Giang Industrial Park

Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation has just announced information about the investment project to build Binh Giang Industrial Park with a scale of about 147.9 ha, with a total investment of 1,755 billion VND, which has been approved by the People’s Committee of Hai Duong province. Accordingly, It is located in the communes of Thai Minh, Nhan Quyen, Thai Hoa, Binh Xuyen, Binh Giang district. The project implementation period is within 30 months from the approval date.

Quang Tri: Approval of Capella Quang Tri Industrial Park infrastructure project

Quang Tri People’s Committee has recently approved the investment policy for the Capella Quang Tri Industrial Park Project. According to the plan, the project implementation area is located in Trieu Trach commune, Trieu Phong district, with a total planned area of 220.47 hectares and a total investment of VND 1,152,746 billion. According to the plan, by 2029, the occupancy rate will reach 80% and strive to complete 100% of capacity in the fourth quarter of 2030.

Hue: Huong Lam Industrial Park project approved

The Hue City People’s Council recently approved a Resolution on the Huong Lam Industrial Park Construction Zoning Plan. The project covers an area of approximately 140 ha, located in the A Dot Border Gate Economic Zone, A Luoi district. It is expected to create jobs for approximately 4,000 to 5,000 workers. The project is planned with four main functional sub-zones: service area, industrial production area, technical infrastructure area, and green space – water surface area.

Hai Phong: Approval of Hai Phong Free Trade Zone project

On June 27, the National Assembly approved to establish the Hai Phong Free Trade Zone. Accordingly, the project will be decided by the Hai Phong City People’s Committee to establish and adjust the boundaries associated with the Dinh Vu – Cat Hai Economic Zone and the Southern Hai Phong Coastal Economic Zone. The policies aim to attract investment, finance, trade, tourism, high-quality services to promote exports, industry, R&D activities, and attract high-quality human resources.

Hai Phong: Inauguration of a $20 million SiO production plant

On June 11, at the Duty Free Zone and Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park (Zone 1), the inauguration ceremony of the SiO production project in Vietnam by Innox Ecom Vina Co., Ltd. (Korea) took place. The project has a total registered investment capital of$20 million, a construction area of 6,048 m2, started on November 26, 2024 and has been completed to date. The product capacity (SiO production) is 800 tons/year, 100% exported to European and American markets.

Bac Giang: Approval of the zoning plan for Thai Dao – Tan An Industrial Park

Bac Giang People’s Committee has just issued a decision approving the zoning plan for the construction of Thai Dao – Tan An Industrial Park at a scale of 1/2000. The total planning area is nearly 166.9 ha. The estimated workforce is about 15,800 people. The planning area is Thai Dao commune, Lang Giang district and Tan An ward. According to the plan, the maximum height in the factory and enterprise area is 5 floors, with a maximum construction density of 70%.

Binh Dinh: Hoai My Industrial Park Planning

Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee has just issued a decision approving the 1/2000 scale construction zoning plan for Hoai My Industrial Park. Accordingly, the planning scope is located in Lo Dieu, Xuan Vinh and Phu Xuan villages, Hoai My commune, with a total area of about 586 ha. It is divided into two main functional areas including Area A of 464.72 ha for the metal manufacturing industry group and Area B of 121.54 ha for the development of supporting industries.

Binh Dinh: Granting investment registration certificate for 1 billion USD FDI project

On June 13, the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province granted the Investment Registration Certificate for the “Polyester Fabric Recycling Production Complex” project to SYRE Impact AB Company (Sweden). The project has a total investment capital of up to 1 billion USD, with the goal of recycling textile waste into PET plastic granules, serving the environmentally friendly textile industry. The project is expected to reach a capacity of 150,000 to 250,000 tons of PET products/year.

Hoa Binh: Vinatech Group inaugurates automatic shelf factory

On June 1, Vinatech Vietnam Corporation held an inauguration ceremony for a modern shelf factory and Go-live SAP S/4HANA system. The project is built on an area of over 20,000m² in Binh Phu Industrial Park. The project meets the standards of the most modern shelf factory, with a supply capacity of 30,000 tons/year to the market. The entire production line has a high level of automation, applying advanced technologies that meet ISO 9001:2015 quality standards.

Da Nang: Identifying enterprises to invest in a 1,800 billion VND semiconductor project

On June 5, the Da Nang People’s Committee approved the investment policy and approved the investor VSAP LAB JSC to implement the project of a Laboratory serving the production of advanced packaging technology for semiconductor chips. It is invested in Software Park No. 2, with an area of over 2,298 sqm. The Laboratory project serving the production of advanced packaging technology for semiconductor chips will provide advanced packaging and testing services in the semiconductor field.

Can Tho: Inauguration of Can Tho 3 Water Plant

On June 18, Biwase Can Tho Water Joint Stock Company held the inauguration ceremony of Can Tho 3 Water Plant. The project, whose full name is “Saigon –Mekong Water Plant Project”, with a capacity of 50,000 m3/day and night, was approved in principle for investment in 2016 for Saigon – Can Tho Water Joint Stock Company as the investor. The project has a total investment capital of 300 billion VND, with phase 1 of the project alone having a capacity of 25,000 m3/day and night.

Phu Tho: High-quality potassium fertilizer production project started

On June 20, in Lam Thao town, Phu Tho province, Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company started the project to invest in a SOP fertilizer production line with a capacity of 20,000 tons/year. The project has a total investment of nearly 120 billion VND. When completed in December 2025, the project is expected to not only meet the domestic fertilizer market demand for agriculture, reduce imports, but also aim for exports, increasing the Company’s competitiveness.

Thai Binh: Groundbreaking ceremony for waste-to-energy plant

On June 28, the groundbreaking ceremony for the solid waste-to-energy plant project with a total investment capital of more than VND2,500 billion took place. It is invested by Dragonventures Investment and Development JSC in collaboration with WangNeng Environmental JSC. According to the design, the plant will be built on an area of about 6 ha, with a minimum capacity to process 600 tons of domestic and general solid waste per day, and generate electricity with a capacity of 15MW.

Ha Tinh: VinFast Electric Car Factory Inaugurated

On June 29, in Ha Tinh, VinFast Ha Tinh Electric Car Factory was inaugurated. Less than 7 months since its launch, VinFast has completed and put into operation its second factory in Vietnam, and the fifth factory to be built worldwide. The project has a scale of 360,000 m2 and is expected to create nearly 6,000 direct jobs in the first phase. The project will first focus on producing strategic urban electric vehicles such as VF 3, Minio Green, EC Van.

Gia Lai: Approval of the planning of Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone

n June 17, the Prime Minister signed a decision approving the Master Plan for the construction of Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone until 2045. The plan covers Chu Ty town and the communes of Ia Kla, Ia Dom, Ia Nan, Ia Pnôn of Duc Co district, Gia Lai province, with a total area of about 415.15 km2. This is a breakthrough aiming to build Le Thanh into a service, logistics, international trade center, a driving force for development in the Central Highlands.

Lam Dong: Construction of Bao Loc – Lien Khuong Expressway Project commenced

On June 29, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Bao Loc – Lien Khuong Expressway was held in N’Thol Ha Commune, Duc Trong District, Lam Dong Province. The project starts at Loc Phat Ward, Bao Loc City, coinciding with the end point of Tan Phu – Bao Loc Expressway; the end point intersects with Lien Khuong – Prenn Expressway in Hiep Thanh Commune, Duc Trong District. The total investment is up to 17,718 billion VND with a length of more than 73.6 km, designed speed of 100 km/h.

Binh Phuoc: Investment in the North-South Expressway, Gia Nghia-Chon Thanh section

On June 29, Binh Phuoc People’s Committee announced the investment in component project 1 – construction of the main route of the North-South Expressway in the West, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) – Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section. It has a total length of about 124.13km (the section through Dak Nong is about 23.1km long, the section through Binh Phuoc is about 101.03km long). The total investment is nearly 20,000 billion VND. The project implementation period is from 2025 – 2027.

Dong Nai: Approval of investment policy for three major projects worth VND80,000 billion

Recently, Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee approved the policy to implement the Ma Da bridge project connecting Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc province; the elevated road project along National Highway 51 from Vung Tau intersection to Vo Nguyen Giap intersection – Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway; the project to extend metro line No. 1 Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien to the new administrative center of the province, the inner city of Bien Hoa and connecting to Long Thanh airport.

Dong Nai: Approval of Tan Phu – Bao Loc Expressway PPP Project

Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee has just signed Decision No. 1189/QD-UBND approving the Tan Phu (Dong Nai) – Bao Loc (Lam Dong) Expressway Construction Project under the PPP method. The Project has its starting point in Phu Trung Commune, Tan Phu District, Dong Nai Province; its end point is at the intersection with Nguyen Van Cu Street, Bao Loc City, Lam Dong Province. The total length of the Project is about 65.88 km.
